Finish

By incorporating specific aggregates, casting techniques and polishing methods, our products can take on a wide variety of finishes, from a nearly mirrored surface to a deeply textured terrazzo. As a handmade product, all finishes maintain a level of variation that is to be considered an inherent characteristic of the material.

Standard

Our standard finish is achieved by grinding into the surface of cast concrete to expose the internal aggregates. The material is then skimmed over with a cementitious material, filling any voids and air pockets to create a finish that is smooth to the touch.

Board Formed

A board formed finish is achieved by casting thin concrete wall panels with the aesthetic of poured-in-place concrete. The detail of the wood naturally embeds a pattern in the concrete. These elegant wall coverings are extremely durable and suitable for exterior and interior usage.

A natural finish is achieved by casting thin concrete wall panels with the aesthetic of concrete in its raw form. These elegant wall coverings are extremely durable and suitable for exterior and interior use.

Custom

We offer a variety of options for custom finish development. Unusual visual textures are achieved with specialty casting techniques as well as incorporating a variety of materials to the mix as a substitute for other internal aggregates which show up in the surface of the product. A variety of sustainable materials are available to add to our blends.

Terrazzo

A terrazzo finish is achieved by grinding into the surface by up to 3/8” to expose the internal aggregates. A terrazzo can be made with stones, glass, rice hulls and any other material that is thermodynamically compatible with concrete. The material is polished until smooth to the touch.

Graphic

Concreteworks has the ability to create custom durable patterns and images to be produced on prefabricated concrete surfaces with a specific technique of exposing the aggregates. It is possible to choose from a stock pattern library or design your own.
