Mark Rogero

Born and raised in New Jersey, Mark Rogero attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Architecture before apprenticing with architects in New York. Relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989, he began experimenting with concrete countertops in his own Emeryville loft between construction projects. His early success with concrete at the loft led Mark to convert that 800 square-foot space into the original home of Concreteworks.

Inspired to refine and innovate by the natural variety that he could achieve with concrete, Rogero began expanding the potential uses of concrete while exploring his own personal approach to the material.  Influenced by the buildings and writing of Louis Khan and Le Corbusier, Rogero has pushed to expand the design aspect of his work, forming pieces that would become integral elements in the architecture of the home.

Mark Rogero’s work has been published locally and nationally in architectural books and design publications. Rogero hopes to expand the scope of the company’s services with the recent introduction of the Concreteworks Gallery, providing a custom fabrication and design resource along with a growing in-house product design firm.
