Senior Accounting Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a well-respected and growing company in the San Francisco East Bay.  We are a full-service design and fabrication studio specializing in innovative solutions using cast concrete and other cement-based materials. Our pieces combine the newest technologies in our field with cutting-edge design and sustainable building materials. We produce unique artisanal pieces that emphasize the value of quality craftsmanship. By constantly exploring the boundaries of concrete and keeping in tune with the desires of contemporary design, we can grow in capacity and aid in the evolution of the material from which our company takes its name.

Working closely with management, employees, customers and vendors, you will be responsible for full cycle accounting including the month end close.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable function 
  • Accounts Receivable function including recording all cash receipts
  • Reconcile cash accounts, prepare wires and initiate online payments
  • Prepare weekly payroll entries and related accruals
  • Review and enter all employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card
  • File monthly sales and use tax returns
  • File annual property tax returns
  • Journal entries, month-end closing & financial reporting
  • Generate reporting related to budget tracking and forecasting
  • Timeliness and accuracy of job cost reporting and month end WIP preparation
  • Organize and maintain fixed asset accounting
  • Serve as a key resource for our organization and provide oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete and accurate
  • Encourage teamwork by collaborating with the owner and co-workers
  • Maintaining confidential company information


  • Proficient in job costing and percentage of completion accounting
  • Excellent analytical skills for reviewing data and reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel (including v-lookups & pivot tables)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, policies and procedures
  • Skills in oral and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop procedures to gain maximum efficiency
  • Displays initiative, curiosity and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
  • The ability to act as a positively contributing member of the management team


  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise software
  • Experience with ADP a plus
  • Heavy Job experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
